ABOUT US
Tomaž Čopi and Mitja Margon are well-known names in the world of sailing. As a crew in the 470 class, they represented Slovenia at two Olympic Games – in Atlanta (USA) in 1996 and in Sydney (Australia) in 2000 – and Tomaž competed at a third Olympiad in Athens (Greece) in 2004.
In Atlanta they finished 14th, and in Sydney they achieved an impressive 9th place. In addition, they can boast excellent results at all major competitions, including a silver medal at both the World and European Championships, and a gold medal at the Mediterranean Games.
For both of them, the sea and sport mean a great deal – sailing simply became their way of life. It was this passion that led them to decide that sailing, and everything connected with it, would be directly tied to their profession. Drawing on the invaluable experience gained during rich and varied sporting careers, they chose to share that knowledge with others. In 2001, the company Seaway TiM was founded, embracing the challenge and opportunity to venture into the business world in the field they know best – nautical sports and sailing.
Today, Sailing Point d.o.o. is a well-known specialist retailer of nautical equipment in Slovenia (Portorož and Izola) and Croatia (Zadar and Split). We are representatives of the world’s leading brands for technical nautical equipment as well as sailing gear, for both professional and recreational sailors. Our goal is to provide expert advice and all the necessary support, along with complete rigging for sailboats and sailors – from lines and navigation instruments to deck hardware and premium clothing. In short, we offer turnkey consulting and service: a boat and crew outfitted from head to toe.
Sailing is our way of life – let it become yours
