Tylaska Marine is based in Connecticut, USA – a town known for sailing and whales. The company began manufacturing premium-quality snap shackles in 1995. The original snap shackle evolved from a need for a simple mechanism that would allow easy release of a sailing glider from a motorboat immediately after the tow launch. At the initiative of sailors who recognised its functional potential, the shackle was adapted to the needs of sailors and soon reached its current form, which is today so popular in the sailing industry. Tylaska has since added numerous other products to its range.
